Fix Solidworks: Server node is down or not responding
If you encounter this error message when attempting to use Solidworks:

Please follow the steps in this article.
Prerequisites
- Solidworks installed and configured
- Admin by Request
Fixing the issue
- Open the Windows Start menu and go to all apps
- In the all apps list go to the "S"s and find the Solidworks 2025 tools folder open it.
- Right click on the Solidworks 2025 Network License Manager and click "Run as Admin" or "Run as Administrator". You will then need to request to start the application as an admin and have it approved by NIS. More information can be found in our Admin by Request - Getting Started/How To guide.
- Once the Solidworks 2025 Network License Manager is open. Go to the Server List tab and add a new server: "25734@APPSERVER4.tti.servers" and remove "25734@APPSERVER4" from the list.
