Eduroam for Android

These instructions detail how to connect an Android OS device to eduroam WiFi. 



For Samsung Android devices:

Step 1

In the settings menu, go to Wireless & Networks, then tap on Wi-Fi

Step 2

Tap eduroam from the list of available networks




Step 3

Set the method to PEAP and enter your TAMU NetID or TTI credentials (for example, NetID@tamu.edu or username@tti.tamu.edu)

You must include @tti.tamu.edu in your username to connect to eduroam


Phase 2 Authentication: None (If None is not an option, select MSCHAPv2 or MSCHAP-v2.)




Tap CA Certificate, select Don’t Validate, then tap Connect

Step 4

Confirm you successfully connected to eduroam by looking for the word Connected under eduroam in your list of available networks


For Google Pixel Android Devices:

  1. On your Android device, swipe down twice to find the settings option.
  2. Tap Settings, then Network & Internet, then Internet.
  3. Tap eduroam.
  4. Tap EAP method, then select PEAP.
  5. Phase 2 Authentication: None (If None is not an option, select MSCHAPv2 or MSCHAP-v2.)
  6. CA Certificate: Use system certificates (Google Pixel devices)
    Pixel devices will also have the two following fields appear: 
    1. Minimum TLS Version: 1.2
    2. Online Certificate Status: Do not verify
  7. Tap the line under Domain and enter tti.tamu.edu (OR tamu.edu if you're using your NET ID to Authenticate)

  1. Tap the line under Identity and enter your TTI login (for example, username@tti.tamu.edu OR username@tamu.edu if you're using your NET ID to Authenticate).
  2. Anonymous Identity: Leave this field blank
  3. Tap the line under Password and enter your password.
  4. Tap Connect at the bottom of the screen.
